Restricting network settings can also work in combination with auth object s_spo_dev, the sap spool will use a (domain) service account to interface with the printer share so you should be able to restrict print access on the printer share to that account only.

The only thing you can do on the network side is restrict them from using that printer as their local workstation printer - and the only impact that has on SAP is when they print to a LOCL (SapWin) device. In that case, SAP is NOT doing the printing, and the network restriction has nothing to do with SAP...
