Girish et al...You've hit the nail on the head as to the value of external tax engines with regards to the state and local sales and use taxes in the US.

I'll spare you the commercial but for future consideration.... CCH (cchgroup.com) is another option to Taxware, Vertex and Sabrix for Sales Tax calculation. We have a SAP certified interface to our tax engine - Sales Tax Office. We're an established international company who's provided tax research and software solutions for years. Thousands of corporate and CPA clients.
