Hi Mido In DB Manager click "Add" to add the databases into the system overview. Then select the PSH database and click the "Connect" button and enter the user name (control or superdba) and the password. Now you should be able to see the status of the database. At least if it's online or offline. One of the post-installation tasks is to update the SAP kernel. This is done directly on the OS level. You can copy the kernel directory from the old system to the kernel directory of the new system. You can follow the wiki "How to update the SAP kernel" which you will find in the ITToolbox archives. Posted by mido.basis (Basis Consultant) on Jun 21 at 5:07 PM Mark as helpful LEH, thanks for you quick response. I do have two SAP systems installed on the same server. I have two different SID, which inturn, have their own directory paths in the USR/SAP/ folder. I checked SAPMMC, and everything is up and running. all the work processes are running fine. I am not sure if I maybe made a mistake in creating the connection from the SAP Frontend. I am not sure how to check for the DB manager. I opened the program, but there is nothing in there about any DBs. I am just not sure how to see if there are errors. I started the program from the path (Start--Programs--MaxDB--DatabaseMgr). I never updated the SAP kernel to the same level as the old system. Is that a requirement ? and how can I update the kernel if I cant even open an SAP sessions on the new PSH instance that was just created. ---------------Original Message--------------- From: Lars-Erik Hallsten Sent: Monday, June 21, 2010 4:56 PM Subject: Can't start SAP Instance from SAP logon fronend ? > Hi Mido > > I can't really see any problems in the trace files.
