This is normal for SAP. Most state will honor unemployment paid in one state as going towards their states limits. Have your payroll department research and make sure they want to pay the tax again. If the employee went to a new company, ie has a different EIN number then yes the tax starts over, but if the employee is still with the same company then the company has already paid the unemployment and should not pay again in another state.

Subject: Unemployment Not Calculating

> I have an EE who worked in TX and had unemployment calculate up until the $9,000 limit. A few pays went by and then the EE started working in AZ. Since the EE is new to AZ, our Payroll Department is expecting that unemployment tax for this EE would start calculating whne the EE moved to AZ. SAP is not calculating any results. IT 209 is set up for the current period that the EE began working in AZ and the correct rates are set up in BTXRATE and also BSI. When I look at the BSI Interface within SAP it shows a YTD wage already reported from the previous state and I am assumiong that is the reason why the tax is not calculating. If this is the case is there a way to set up SAP so the YTD wage from the previous state doe snot get sent in the BSI Interface?
