Hi Robert,
If the same position is ALWAYS staffed by salaried, hourly, etc. employees, then it will be good to create unique position for these employees. Otherwise, it may not make sense to create positions by salaried, hourly, etc as you will potentially be faced with vacant positions when in fact they have been filled by another group.
This is just my one cent worth.
