Fair points Keith, I guess the decision on the road to take is very much dependant on the organisation you are deploying in and more specifically the criteria that will affect your decision making, whether that be internal resource availability, numbers of vendors and associated relation ship with same, security (as you rightly point out). Having your vendors maintain their own internal mail groupings is (for me) the most simplistic approach but may only suit a simplistic model.
Another way to meet the (original) requirement would be to amend the code such that it only emailed specific email addresses that contain a "Note" field update with ie. PORECIPIENT from the vendor master ie. trigger the send but only if ADSMTP-REMARK = PORECIPIENT. Then you could trigger transmissions to as many recipients as you need, either internal or external.
This is a more extreme approach, I guess the point I am making is that the conditions at the company will decide which approach will best fit but straightaway there are 3 suggested that are not (in any way) complex.
Ah the joys of SAP!.:-)

That's ok from a workload point of view, but from a security POV, how do
you control who your PO's are sent to? Also if you maintain the groups,
you have the option of not only sending it to several people within the
vendor organisation, but also people within your own organisation, which
I would think the vendor would be reluctant to maintain. If you trust
your vendor, how about having the vendor maintain a dist list for their
receivers, and you have a dist list, which includes their dist list plus
your receivers. If you get what I mean :-)
Cheers

Yes hear where you are coming from but the only problem with that is
that the owness is on you then to maintain that dist list. If you go the
other way and have the vendor create their own mailing list it puts the
responsibility back to them and is one less piece of data to maintain.
Seems neither here nor there but if dealing with large numbers of
vendors it can become tiresome.

That's why I said to set up a list. On your email server (not in SAP)
set up a distribution list group@vendor.com and within that, set up your
individual email addresses a@vendor.com;b@vendor.com;c@anywhere.com.
Then in the vendor master in SAP enter the email address
group@vendor.com. SAP will then send to the email server which will
forward on to all the individual email addresses.
Cheers

Good suggestion on the distribution lists but this does not work. The
field will only take singular email addresses

Hi Tony,
There's a question asked a thousand times.. and as far as I know, the
answer is no.
If anyone has ever figured out how to do it I would sure like to know.
But I've researched and seen several people ask on this venue and no one
has ever had an answer.
