Good Day

You need to meet with your network support people to discuss options around that. The secure solution will be dependent on your network infrastructure.

Dear Mr.Caddick ,

Do you meant to say creating external alias ?

Now I created external alias for the path
/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui ... as /dev

So now I could login using , http://<hostname>:8000/dev

But now I want to replace <hostname>:8000 to a name like
mycompanysap.com/dev

I donr know how to achieve this ...can you please guide me whether the
above thing can be done and if so how to achieve the same

Thanks

Shalini

Hi Susin.

The only way to do this is to open the firewall port 8000 for the host
into the DMZ. This is not very secure and you should then configure a
https service to allow this. Your SAP system would also need a valid IP
address.

If you create a https service you would not be using port 8000 or 80.
Anyway you should use Tx SICF to create an alias.

The more secure method of connecting to your system from home is via a
VPN connection.

See the security documentation at http://service.sap.com/security

Regards
