I would start out by rebuilding indexes in PRD. you can do simply in SE14, drop the index and re-create it.
BE CAREFUL! DO NOT DROP TABLE! simply drop the index.
once rebuild was done, re-test your transaciton to see if it got better.
I had the same problem and rebuilding indexes did the trick for table LTAP.
