Reply from nneebb032012 on Mar 21 at 12:52 PM I now understand a little bit more in dept this scenario. I would say if the plant in Malaysia belongs to the same company than plant in Germany, so you should extend your "customer in germany" master data to your sales org area in Malaysia. If the plant in Malaysia is not yours and is a Vendor or a Third Party vendor, I think the scenario would be "drop shipment" in which a third party vendor delivers straight to your customer on behalf of your company. Well incoterms include other "contractual obligations", so in this particular circumstance, we have a customer located in Germany and a plant in Germany .. the customer (ie. soldto) is more than happy to pay the freight accept customs terms etc for a Germany to Germany shipment BUT if the product is shipped from a plant in Malaysia, they do not want to have the same liabilities/terms/freight etc. and therefore, contractually, they want different incoterms. I find it hard to believe that other much larger, global companies don't have the same issue and that SAP does not supply a SAP solution for this situation ? Thoughts ?
