I appreciated your time and input but it doesnt address at all the scenario I gave. extending the customer to a different sales area doesn't apply as there is no new sales area (org/channel/division) .. none of these is different in the scenario I gave to illustrate and this still does not address the "ship from" (ie plant) part.

So to restate for anyone else who cares to comment. I have a soldto with 1 shipto (both are in GERMANY). I have a PLANT in Germany. I have a plant in MALAYSIA. (nothing to do with drop ship , vendors etc..). I ship product A from my plant in Germany to that 1 shipto in Germany. The incoterms on the soldto is EXW. Now I an going to sometimes ship the same product to the same shipto from my plant in MALAYSIA. The customer (ie. the soldto) says "hold on there cowboy, those same terms are not acceptable if you are shipping from MALAYSIA to us ... we want different incoterms when you ship product A from your Malaysian PLANT to use" ..

How do other companies (you folks must have the same type of situation .. larger companies than ours ship all over the world from all over the world to the same customer.. ) How can this be handled in SAP ?

Again , any more input appreciated.

Subject: How to Set Inco Terms (DDP, EXW, FCA, DAP, etc) Based On Shipto and Ship from Location?

We currently set our inco terms at the soldto. This value is copied to order/billing/shipping docs, etc. We now have a requirement to set the inco terms based on shipto AND ship from location. That is, if product ships from Malaysia plant (as opposed to EU plant) and the shipto is X, then the inco terms are different.

I do not see a way in config to do this, yet I find it hard to believe that other SAP installations in much larger conglomerates don't have the same situation.

Anyone else have the same requirement and have used standard SAP to implement?

Thanks for ANY info / direction.
