If the sales order has 2 different manufacturing dates, I create 2
separate manufacturing orders using the same sales order but different
dates.

This way at the time of shipment we can pull them to ship as requested.
The warehouse personnel can determine which one was needs to be shipped..

Kind regards,
Debra Rose

Subject: Seperate Manufacturing Orders With Different Production Dates?

I'm having an issue at the minute that for identical units I'm having to create 2 separate manufacturing orders in COOIS for 1 sales order. This is because the units have 2 different manufacturing dates and when stores come to create a list to pick the items they can see how many to pick for the first job going out the door and how many to pick for the second as the BOM is for separate manufacturing orders.

This is causing quality issues as when a mistake is made on 1 BOM it needs to be changed for all of the manufacturing orders even though the unit is the same.

The questions I need answering are...

Is it possible to create multiple lines in a manufacturing order, but give the lines in the manufacturing order different production dates so that stores can pick all of the items in the BOM for one unit and then all of the items in the BOM for the next.

Or....

Can stores go into the manufacturing order that has been set up for multiple units of the same type (i.e. 2) and generate a picking list for 1 whole unit only, or for 3 units out of 7 etc... and not have to manually divide each BOM item by the number of units required immediately and the number required at a later date to work out what parts they need to pick and when?

What transaction would be required to perform such an action and what steps need to be taken to achieve this result?

Thanks.
