You can create the serial number via IQ01 or IQ04 and then enter it when you create the order. Depending upon your configuration settings for serial numbers, you could also type in a serial number upon order creation and the system will create that serial number for you.
This can be done if your serialization profile configuration does not have existReq field checked.

How can I assign Serial number before Releasing Production Order via CO02 where the Serial number will be assigned for the first time. During Production Order creation Serial Number is not assigned. However during release its mandatory. I tried using Enhancements :
PPCO0007 Exit when saving production order
PPCO0012 Production Order: Display/Change Order Header Data
PPCO0021 Release Control for Automatic Batch Determination
But since in serializing strategy PPRL, serial number is mandatory, PPCO0007 cannot be used. When does PPCO0021 gets triggered. So please suggest how to proceed on the same. |
