Can you print Japanese to this printer from any other application?

We are printing putaway tags from SAP using smart forms on portable zebra printers QL420PLUS and QLn420.
For language English the 'Material description' coming from SAP table is printing fine.
However if the 'Material description' is in Japanese the characters printing as '####' on the printer.
Smart forms device type and fonts used in SAP:
Device type - YZB200 (Zebra label printer 203dpi - LZEB2)
We have translated the smartform from EN to JA using SE63 and assigned character format ANDALE_J to the material description and printing the smartform by passing language as 'J' in control parameters. So Japanese characters are printing fine on SAP side in SP01, however while coming to the printer the characters being converted to '#' symbol.
The ANDALE_J font is already installed on the portable zebra printer as 'E:ANMDJ.TTF'
Apart from this, is it required to place any font card in the printer?
