Hi,
If the conversion factor between NOs and KG is variable, then you should use batch managed material together
with "batch units of measure" in logistics general.

Subject: Unit Conversion in Material Master

In the transaction 'change material master' (MM02) go to 'Additional data', via the button in the main menu, then tab 'Units of measure'. In the table in that tab, maintain the relationship between NOS and KG (eg 1 NOS = 5 KG). Note that if you do this you will be saying that (eg) 1 NOS is always 5 KG - you cannot use this function if 'NOS' can be variable amount of KG. (We have a scenario where we make rolls of product, but where a roll can be a variable length we cannot say that (eg) 1 ROL = 100 M2, because it isn't always)
.
Weight unit, that you mention, is not relevant in this case.
.
Hope this helps
