Subject: Vendor Bank Details in SAP

Hi

A Quick peek using F1 help on the respective fields can throw light on
many things, I suppose.

However, Bank Key is a unique number assigned by the central bank
(apex bank) in a country for all banks operating within a given
country. In countries like Germany, The Bank Number and the Bank Key
are the same. This is a unique identity of each bank operating in a
country. As you can infer, bank key and bank number are country
specific and are local.

IBAN (International Bank Accounting Number) and Swift code (The
Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) are
unique numbers which are similar to Bank Key / Bank Number. However,
IBAN and SWIFT codes are used in International Banking Transactions.
Therefore , they are global and not local ( though they serve the same
purpose to identify a given bank ).

Bank Account Number is the account number allotted by the bank to the
account holder ( this is the same as the number you see on your bank
pass book ). Bank account number is a unique identity offered by a
bank to each of its customers.

Hope that sounds clear.

Regards
