While we're on the topic, what about "cloud ERP"? Anyone seeing SAP installations moving to a cloud or even a hybrid? I'm curious as to what the folks out there are seeing/hearing on that topic.

As far as what's been commented on so far, I agree especially with Horacio and Neal. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is probably a very big mantra in most industries these days. If you're going to design new, go for the latest and greatest, but retrofitting is very costly and only works as part of an overall strategy to minimize ongoing maintenance and support.

Subject: Trends in SAP Development

Esteemed Toolbox Colleagues,

I will be giving a guest lecture to an "Advanced ERP" class at our local university in a couple of weeks, and I want to include a segment on "Trends in SAP Development."
Now, it's easy to see the trends that SAP's marketing machine wants us to see, but I want to get a better idea about the "real world" trends that are shaping up at real-world companies.
So, what trends do you see shaping up at your company?

Cheers,
TerryB
