Reply from horacio zapettini on Nov 13 at 4:21 PM There is a difference between a company that does not sell software (where abapers and functional analysts are employees) and software factories that sell software. In the second case, reusability, staying on the top of the wave is natural. In our case, the strategy is a bit different: make it work as soon as possible so the software fits the business changes (and business changes occurs really fast). In our case, maintenance is cheap (because we haven't changed the abapers team) and we need a small. Have to go home :) but it's an interesting topic and it'd be great if more peers get involved on it. Horacio

Anyone seeing SAP installations moving to a cloud or even a hybrid? I'm curious as to what the folks out there are seeing/hearing on that topic. As far as what's been commented on so far, I agree especially with Horacio and Neal. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is probably a very big mantra in most industries these days. If you're going to design new, go for the latest and greatest, but retrofitting is very costly and only works as part of an overall strategy to minimize ongoing maintenance and support. - Lou | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
