You will not have to rerun transactions. You will have to rerun depreciation if the ASKBN is set to populate derived depreciation areas not yet populated until after ASKBN is run. I understand that new g/l can be set to not depend on periodic posting to populate derived depreciation areas. They can be direct, like 01 now I think.

You can run periodic posting every week or day by the way. Regards

Subject: Transaction ASKBN

Hello,

In our company we had more depreciation area. I had question. It is posibble to run transaction ASKBN each month?

We did transfer list of assets on January 2012 from one company code to another. We run deprecations 01/2012. Now boss decide run ASKBN each month. But when users try to run ASKBN there is error message that posting period 01/2012 is closed. So I will open the period, but wouldn't be problem in depreciation for period 01/2012. User have to rerun depreciations(AFAB,AFAR)? Transaction ASKBN want to posted to P gl account. We had set up for dep. area 44 posted to GL account started P. Total amount is amount of our transfer.

Thank you for your advice.
