You will have to rerun depreciation if the ASKBN is set to populate derived depreciation areas not yet populated until after ASKBN is run. I understand that new g/l can be set to not depend on periodic posting to populate derived depreciation areas. They can be direct, like 01 now I think.
You can run periodic posting every week or day by the way. Regards

In our company we had more depreciation area. I had question. It is posibble to run transaction ASKBN each month?
We did transfer list of assets on January 2012 from one company code to another. We run deprecations 01/2012. Now boss decide run ASKBN each month. But when users try to run ASKBN there is error message that posting period 01/2012 is closed. So I will open the period, but wouldn't be problem in depreciation for period 01/2012. User have to rerun depreciations(AFAB,AFAR)? Transaction ASKBN want to posted to P gl account. We had set up for dep. area 44 posted to GL account started P. Total amount is amount of our transfer.
