From my experience when you get postings emanating from production orders
going to the dummy profit centre it usually is because there is a dummy
profit centre assigned in the profit centre field within the assignment
tab.
You can view this using transaction CO03 Display Production Order header
on the assignment tab.
This field normally gets the profit centre from the material master for
the material for which the production order is being created.
