The original post is from 2004 (i.e 7 yrs ago): I believe the O.P. has been able to solve the question (or he has lost the job...)
On the other hand, in sq02 (SAP query) you can't specify the open cursor in a join condition.

If we were talking about a report, then it could be right. In the context of the question, your answer is definitely wrong.

BTW, I'd test again the cursor technique, but last time I did it, it was slower than hashed tables (it was also slower than nested selects...) .

Fastest way to get the data is with open cursor. With this technique you can (more or less) join even cluster-tables.
