Hi all

If I understood correctly you need a methods to group specific assets main/sub number.
Did you hink to use asset master data fields for this use ?
In FIAA master data you have the fields:
- room/location (fully free)
- evaluation group 1 to 5 (controlled by user custom tables)

These fields can be used in reporting to group asset data in addition to main/sub numbers and independently by asset class.

Hope it helps you, if yes mark as helpful.

Regards
Rocco

Thank you all for the reply.

I think the sub-asset concept will work for us.

further to this, in IT department asset management, is there a way to set up relationship between assets or equipments?

here is the scenario,
1. we have laptop L1, L2, L3, L4, and they are managed as Sub-asset of Computer and also there are euipment master for each of them
2. we have software Windows 7, MS Office 2010, MS office 2003, Adobe, they are maintained as Sub-Asset of Software, and also there are equipment master for each of them.

now, we need to set up the relationship of what knid of software(s) has been installed in each laptop. and if possible to have a list of all laptops that installed a certain software, and a software list that installed in a certain laptop

thanks
