1. SAP is saying your I/O is dodgy. So first look in RZ20 - Monitor templates - database.... and under there is the disk performance for both DB and logs... These should be 5ms or less... 20MS and you need to shoot your SAN boys.

2. There are a lot of areas that can be improved and there is an awful lot to look at. First you need to understand if you have a general performance problem. Go to RZ20- monitoring templates - dialog overview and find the standard dialog response times. Select all servers via left check box and then click the button that looks like 2 pieces of joined jigsaw... page down an you will see some 5 minute and hourly figures. If these values are all the same/or close it means your system is running stably at the same speed. If this value is higher than about 10-12 ms it can be improved with tuning and then we run through what can be done.

One final comment.... 4GB or RAM and loads of WP's... makes me wonder about version of SAP & Windows (SE,EE?)... just how many CPU's are servicing these poor 4GB servers and what is your page-in rate (for that matter your page out rate as ther is a bug in this area). There is a million things and having worked for SAP I would like to point out you are likely being serviced by someone with 0-2 years experience who runs some scripts.

I am guessing but gut feel says you have disk and CPU and RAM issues and it is likely your customer is not going to be keen on forking out to fix them so all we can do in this case is assess reduction and spread of workload.
