Vin,
the SAPServce<SID> user does not normally have rightsto lo on as a user... that is the issue.
ideally the serviceshoul run as SAPService<SID> due to shared memory areas it reads ... yes the ADM user should be able to also read these shared memory areas but I have seen issues.
