Hi, There are two standard ways of keeping track of changes in tables: - Via the 'log data changes' in technical settings of a databasetable. However, logging must be activated (some profile setting) and the indicator is only set for customizing tables. Activating logging is active for the complete system and is not good for performance. All in all not the best choice. - Via change documents. I saw that dataelement BKTXT has change document indicator activated. This means that in standard SAP transactions changes on this field should be stored. This change document logic is not implemented automatically in the database but via programmed logic. It is my expectation that there is a custom program at the company that also changes BKPF-BKTXT. If so, you should add the logic for change documents also there if it is that important (or better, change BKPF via standard SAP logic) Met vriendelijke groeten/ kind regards, Ben Meijs www.ctac.nl From: H Leo via sap-dev [mailto:sap-dev@Groups.ITtoolbox.com] Sent: vrijdag 9 juli 2010 7:38 To: Ben Meijs Subject: [sap-dev] How to trace any change to a specific field, like BKPF-BKTXT? Posted by H Leo on Jul 9 at 1:34 AM Hi, Experts: I encoutered an issue before (not related to this question itself) and I found that the issue were caused by BKPF-BKTXT field chaning/missing...but I don't know which program had been doing so, because it's not alwalys happening. I would like to trace who/when/which program had changed the SPECIFIC field,(e.g BKPF-BKTXT) I've check Change Document CDHDR/CDPOS tables, but nothing found. Is there such a T-code to do so or other alternatve solutions? even some program coding aslo acceptable. Thanks a lot! | __.____._ Copyright © 2010 Toolbox.com and message author. Toolbox.com 4343 N.
