Create a storage location to represent your reserved stock at vendor. Becaused they are 'reserved' I guess they are waiting for you. Reason maybe you do not have enough storage capacity or is just a provision by vendor for your JIT?

While you could then make MRP areas at storage level whereby you would leave out this store, I wonder how you'd still want to use ATP at Sales Orders with AND without the stores.

Consignment is usually vendor stock at your yard without system reservation. Its difficult to tell with the std functions at what point you'll see your reservation outside consignment and at vendor's ownersip.

Background : we have suppliers that agree to hold a certain quanty of a material in Reserve for us.
They own this material and it is at their site.
The request is to be able to see this inventory when creating a Sales order (to be able to quote an accurate lead time to customer - these are typically long lead materials).
What is the best way to have this available in SAP?
Could it be identified as consignment material in a location that represents vendor location?
(probably needs to be not avaialble for mrp - are there financial implications?)
if anyone has done this and is willing to share I would greatly appreciate it.
