Dear Haritha,

Please implement the Badi 'PT_ABS_REQ'. Write the validation code for leave collision in 'SIMULATE_VIA_BLOP' method. If the leave request is already applied then throw error message back to the screen.

Thanks & Regards,
Rajesh.

Subject: Converting Warning Message Into Error Message in SAP ESS Portal

Dear Respected Experts,

We are facing an issue as employee requests leave from SAP ESS portal

Scenario:

As per the company policy when user requests weekly off (one of the Absence types) from ESS portal by default this leave request will be approved by system (which does not require user's respective manager's approval). Hence, the status of the weekly-off will be "APPROVED" on the portal.

Similarly, if an user applied weekly-off leave from 05.11.2017 to 05.11.201 from ESS portal and it has been approved by the system. Hence, the status of Weekly-off request is " APPROVED".

If the same user applied other absence types such as annual leave/casual leave/sick leave from 04.11.2017 to 06.11.2017 from ESS portal,User is getting WARNING MESSAGE as "Conflict with Absences/Casual Leave (IT2001/1010) from 04.11.2017 to 06.11.2017 in ESS portal instead of ERROR MESSAGE.

We have checked on SAP R/3 on the same user with the same leave requests on the same dates as mentioned above in IT2001. It's working absolutely fine as system is throwing ERROR message during collision of absences. As a result, user is not allowed to proceed with leave requests if there is a collision.

Our customer requires that the system should not allow employee to proceed with leave requests during collision of absences.

What's happening in the ESS portal is- System is throwing WARNING MESSAGE as " CONFLICT WITH ABSENCES/CASUAL LEAVE (IT2001/1010) FROM 04.11.2017 TO 06.11.2017" in place of error message due to this cause the employee is allowed to proceed with leave request if there is already an absence type existing and has got approved during collision of absence types.

We would need your assistance in AMENDING this warning message to error message so that system can stop employee to proceed with leave request during collision of leave types in ESS portal.

IN ESS PORTAL SYSTEM SHOULD STOP EMPLOYEE WITH ERROR MESSAGE INSTEAD OF WARNING MESSAGE.

Kindly provide your inputs and help us resolve this issue.

Your swift response would be of more helpful and appreciable.

Thanks & Regards,
Haritha.
