Once a Maintenance Plan is called, you can not change call date for the call that has already generated a call object. You can complete/cancel the call object and then reschedule/fix or skip the plan to adjust the dates for subsequent calls.
I also think there is a limitation that once the work order is completed/canceled, you would not be able to set the next call date until after the previous call date, unless you do a reschedule.
Please advise on what you are actually trying to do.
