My point was that the field settings for MIGO for Display Material Document can be different than the field settings for MIGO for a Goods Issue to Asset (Mvmt 241). Perhaps the Customer field was suppressed in the settings for Display Material Document.
As I read your original question again and more carefully, you say that the customer field is empty. I take that to mean the Customer field is displayed on the screen, but the value is empty. Maybe the entry is not getting stored in the document table.
Is the Customer field (KUNNR) populated in the MSEG table for Goods Issue document? If yes, then it's something with the display settings, as discussed above. If no, then the system is not accepting an input for Customer on the GI to Asset posting. (Entirely different direction.)

In MIGO while posting 241 customer field was suppressed, as per requirement from the client I made it optional. I enter customer in customer field and save the document, and when I display the document again customer field is empty.
Can anyone please help me in sorting out the issue?
