1. In T77SO, ensure/modify the following are correctly configured. If changed, create a transport request.
PLOGI ORGA y << y = blank for PA/PD sync; X otherwise.
PLOGI PRELU y << y= Blank for PA/PD integration or sync.
<< y = 'X'' or '0' otherwise if running RHINTExx to show PD change in PA.
PLOGI SPLIT X << 'X' if you want the IT 1 split on the position description change date.
<< blank otherwise.
PLOGITEXTS X <
<transfer position text to PA.

If you have not set to split the IT 1 from the position change date, you will see the changed text only after System date is not before the date from which the position text is changed.

2. Also ensure PLOGI feature (in txn PE03) is active and set for integration.

3. In IT 1 display, if you want to see the position's long text, then ensure the following.
3.1 In SPRO>
Personnel Mgt>Customizing user interfaces>Change screen modifications>
For MP000100 module, ensure you have selected
PLANS_2ND_TEXT

4. Use a transaction recording for txn PPOME or PO13; the change may be a from a certain date in the past or future. You would need to copy the existing object HRP1000 from the change date. Save the recording. Do not use PF4 to find the position or change date (or if using PPOME to find the object type.) Type the position id or date (or object type 'S' for position). To find the position id, go to a separate screen in PO13D txn. Using PF4 or search term creates problems in the transaction recording.
To change text from a certain date, you may need to copy the object from the change date to say 31/12/9999. Then this splits the HRP1000 object from the change date.
Save the batch recording in a transport.

5. Correspondingly create an Excel file for a sample position in your Dev system/ test client for changing the text. The file will have the object id, change date and the changed description. Save the file as a Text file. type *.txt'). You can copy the file as many times you need to include several positions in any system or client.

6. Use LSMW txn to create an object with a desc as say 'Change position' and txn as above and the recording above created. Create a job to run the LSMW object with an input file.
Complete the LSMW txn
Create transport for the LSMW object and the batch job.

7. Copy all config transports to Dev/test client.
Test a change using the sample file and the batch job created above. The last step would be to run the batch session created in the change txn.

8.Using PO13D txn. check if the position has been changed correctly.
If not repeat from step 4 to modify the LSMW object, or the batch recording or the test input file.

9. Move the transports to the SAP Test system. Test again in Test system for another position and ensure the position change is ok.

10. The move the transport to prod system. Create input file/s for changing the positions in the prod system. Run the job as many times as you need depending on the no. of input files created.

Subject: PPOME - Position Description Change

Hi Team,

May I know how I can change the position description in bulk at a time?

I have position numbers and need to change their description. The process I am following as of now:
PPOME > Search Term > Pasting the position number > Enter - Selecting the position number > then on the screen change the position description

However, I have 230+ entries to change the position is there any way we can change all these at a time rather going to each entries? Please assist
