Reply from Vamsi_FICO on Jan 12 at 4:35 PM I cant have a closed period (FI,CO or MM) reopened in live production system. I want to know how I can cancel in the current period a confirmation done in earlier periods (on work order), without having to reopen to the closed periods.

The system first gives an error message saying the period is closed as the posting date on the cancellation is set to the original confirmation date from the closed period. But before the system takes me to next screen where I can change the posting date to current period, I am getting another error message RU085 "Error in determining the actual costs for order XXXXXX" and system exits from the transaction completely. No error log is saved in COFC either. I wonder why system is not able to calculate the actual costs during cancellation when the activity rates, work centers and everything is still valid. I assume that cancelling a confirmation in the following period is done quite often and should be allowed. If I open the previous period in test system, the confirmation gets successfully posted in the previous period without any errors in the actual cost calculation. I am confused why a closed period is causing error in cost calculation and restricting the confirmation cancellation from being done in current period.
