How the status profile will reference the Production order status. In status for inspection you will set the status pertaining to Inspection lot.

There is provision in standard. You can create status profile for that and restrict it.
Pre requisites are --
Result recording must be done for inspection lot.
This status profile you need to assign to inspection type, so it will be applicable to all the plants who are using that inspection type...
