I have done something similar - I was asked to add Account Group (LFA1-KTOKK). This was in R/3 4.7, so I'm not sure how much the process might have changed in ECC or S4.
However, if you'd like the document on what I did, as a guide for you, send me an email at nikki dot klein @ imaxmail dot net. It might give you enough to start on.
