Can you think of any other affected areas of master data we would need to consider in the cutover to the new sales org. disty channel then what I listed below. They are looking to immediately stop processing in this current sales org., disty channel. I can remove the abiliity to select this disty channel in config but what about all the documents created or pending.
Sales Orders, Quotes, Contract, Pending Deliveries, Pending Open/Not Cleared invoices, Customer Masters, Material Masters, PO's attached to TAS or third party Sales orders.
These would all need to be cutover & closed out. We have longer lead time products and could have booking into 2017 or 2018 already in this sales area they want to stop using.

We are trying to understand the cons or issues with going into configuratuion and removing disty. channel we no longer want to use. Will this get rid of sales orders, customer master, materials that exist or existed in that Sales Org. Disty. Channel, Division - Sales Area?? I think this is a bad idea especially in the middle of our fiscal year and with existing sales orders, quotes, contracts, material masters, customer's existing in this sales area combination. Has anyone done anything like this before?? Do you suggest leaving it there just removing the abilitiy to continue use of it for these functions. |
