Reply from RobinTBW on May 14 at 11:33 AM Hi Laurie, I am guessing you are ultimately trying to generate VAKEY for KONH? All condition data appears on KONH and KONP (Headers and Items). The records are keyed by the condition number (KNUMH) but contain the field VAKEY, which is a concatenation of the key data relevant to the condition. Whenever a condition type is set up, the system generates an index table named for the usage and ID. If on KONH, the Usage (KVEWE) is "B" and the table number (KOTABNR) is "006", then there will be a table called B006, keyed by the individual fields that make up VAKEY and the validity dates of the condition, and that will have the value of KNUMH used to access KONH and KONP to get the actual condition information. If you do a little exploring of some sample values using SE16, you'll soon get the idea. I'm sure there are access programs and functions for this, but the last time I needed to perform extensive processing with condition data in this way I found it simpler to code my own accesses. Hope that helps! Robin

I know all of the tables involved but i need the piece of the puzzle that creates the VAKEY so I can read the appropriate condition table. I have retrieved the Access Program for the "B" table but i do not know how to populate VAKEY so I can actually retrieve records since the VAKEY is variable (depending upon the table). We are on ECC 6.0. I have searched high and low in all forums available to me (not just this one) without success. Maybe I am using incorrect search terms. SAP Help Portal is really no help either. | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | In the Spotlight Become a blogger at Toolbox.com and share your expertise with the community.
