Hi Chonaly,

Use the SAP software provisioning manager (SPM) you will be prompted to restore the database and rollforward the logs. With the Export method the Source database should not be used while the export takes place.

Subject: Heterogeneous System Copy vs. Full Backup Restore

Hi Experts,

What is the difference between heterogeneous system copy and Full DB Restore?
If I will perform full db restore, is there any configuration that will not be included?

Source:
Windows Server 2008 Standard
SAP ECC 6.04
DB2 9.1
Target:
Windows Server 2012 Standard
SAP ECC 6.04
DB2 9.1

I have performed hetero copy but there are objects that are invalid and are not created in the target system. These objects are ztables. Because of these invalid objects, I'm thinking if it's better to perform Full DB restore.

Regards,
Chonaly
