Reply from Scrubjay1 on Mar 31 at 2:49 PM Once you get the error message, just click on question mark, i.e. for long text, so that you can get more information. Search for OSS note: 947690 Check the server name what you given. *Here I'm giving the content of 947690* *Symptom* The activation or scheduling of the chain fails with the return code 8. You get the message "The job xxxxxx could not be scheduled"(or activated). *Other terms* Return code 8,rsm702,rspc065. *Reason and Prerequisites* 1. The user type of background user is incorrect. 2. Invalid host name setting. 3. Server name spelt wrong or wrong case-sensitivity for server name in sm51. 4. Process chain scheduled to run on a server which does not exist. 5. No instance is defined but the operation mode is set in sm63.. *Solution* 1. Set the background user profile according to note 511475. 2. Check the host name setting in sm65 and correct if necessary (refer note 23538). 3. Check the server settings in sm51 i.e., check for the spelling and correct case. 4. Schedule the chain with a valid server. 5. Maintain an instance of operation mode in rz04 *And also check:* Please check out OSS note 511475 *No OSS access:* Just analyze the error message that you get while activating the PC, don't give any server name.If you are trying to run process chain using Flat file, it won't work, and you should have source system R/3 or you have own datasources in BW system itself at that toime you can use PC to extract data. If your source system is Flat ile, it won't work. other wise you should place your flat file in application server, using AL11 tcode. *OSS : 511475* *Symptom* You cannot schedule or perform any batch jobs with the BW or source system background user. The error RSPC 065 occurs in the process chains:"Job could not be scheduled, termination with return code 8" *Other terms* RSPC065 *Reason and Prerequisites* The user type is "CPIC" up to 4.6B "Communication" as of 4.6C This user type may not execute or start any batch jobs, irrespective of the user authorizations. *Solution* Set the type of background user to "Background" up to 4.6B "System" as of 4.6C This user type corresponds to the "Communication" type and may also perform background functions. Through the Customizing, the BW user is automatically created by mistake as a communication user.Depending on your BW system release, you can solve this problem as follows: BW 2.0B Import Support Package 24 for 2.0B (BW2.0B patch24 or SAPKW20B24) into your BW system. The Support Package is available once note 456551 with the short text "SAPBWNews BW 2.0B Support Package 24", which describes this Support Package in more detail, has been released for customers.
