i have the same issue as described, nowadays we are not use any valuation for vendors, my question is: for best practice is better to keep the delivery date or the statistical?

In PO when I change the Delivery date the Statistical Date at item level is automatically being changed.
I want to stop this from happening and keep the last statistical delivery date while changing the delivery date.
Can you suggest me any enhancement to achieve this?
