Stock type & stock categories are always same but only difference is Stock type majorly using in Inventory Management and Stock category is majorly using in Warehouse management.
Even if you refer the possible entries (by press F4) on the stock type / category, you can find the same values.

I am not quite sure what the exact difference is between stock category and stock type. To me both seem to be working the same way: Change stock from Unrestricted to Quality Inspection (or) Unrestr. to blocked or vice versa.
I wonder what is the exact difference between these two (stock category versus stock type).
