Reply from D. Caddick on Nov 14 at 4:52 AM Hi Khurram, The best idea is to set a point-in-time for a little while after the ERP backup is complete, then restore both databases, with a rollforward to that point in time. Both databases will then be in sync. Regards

I do system copy from Production ERP to Quality ERP 4 times an year and to other sandpit systems after every month. Now as we have implemented SRM system (Netweaver 7.31 SRM 7.02) and the SRM system is connected with ERP system, I am facing some issues in system copies. My scenario that, if I start backup for ERP and SRM even simultaneously, the SRM backup finishes in 20 minutes while ERP backup takes around an hour. It means during the backup of ERP system when the backup of SRM is finished, there is a lot of chances that data will updated in SRM system and as a result also changed in ERP system and that change will go in the ERP backup which is not in the backup of SRM. Therefore there are some inconsistent data (or orphan data) in ERP. After completion of system copy the data in ERP will be more as compare to SRM. If we run some reports we'll found the inconsistency. I understand that one method to take backup of both systems and then apply transaction logs to achieve the point in time backup. Can anybody help me with any other process withing SAP boundaries? I am afraid that after some months our BW system will also be operational and we have to do simultaneous system copy of PRD(ERP+SRM+BW) in QAS(ERP+SRM+BW)!!!!!!!!!!!!! Appreciate in advance for any help and suggestion Regards, Khurram Qureshi | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
