It is news to me and thanks for it. However, it is just my wild guess. Since the operative gl no. and alternative acct. No. Have 1:1 mapping, does the alt. Acct. No. Trigger the normal acct. No. For f-02 posting? It is just a guess and please throw more light so that I can learn a new thing.

In some transaction codes you can use the alternative account number to post to its operational account equivalent.
You use the matchcode in the field e.g. If you enter =A.nnnnnn where nnnnnn is the alternative account number, it will substitute the operational account number. I do not think this works in FB50 for example but in F-02 it works.
