The recommended method to create an asset class is to copy from an existing
asset class and make changes to the target class created. Creation of an
asset class as new entry is usually tedious since you have to take care to
ensure that you have adequately created both master data section and the
depreciation data section.
Was the asset class created as a new entry without any reference class?
Then please ensure that you have created an account determination key,
populated it with related general ledger accounts, assigned the account
determination key, number range and screen lay out rules (one exists for
the master data section and one for the depreciation data section of the
asset class) to your asset class.
Creation through copying saves you a lot of trouble and also avoids
occurrence of mistakes.

You have to create Account Determination key first, you have not yet created the account determination key that is why the error is coming. Please follow the steps for creating Asset Class
IMG>Financial Accounting (New)Asset Accounting>Organizational Structures>Asset Classes>
2) Specify Account Determination
3) Create Screen Layout Rules
4) Define Number Range Interval
5) Define Asset Classes
You can also create asset class form "Generate Asset Classes from G/L Accounts (1 to 1)"
this is the simplest method to create asset class. for this you have to create GL account first. |
