We are almost ready to implement PO & Contract via Email from the MM module. Everything is working fine except one aspect of the sender name on the emailed PO/contract (to vendor).
Early on, Purchasing stakeholders decided they wanted the sender name of emailed PO or contract to be the creator NOT the releaser. So, we fixed this via OSS note 561593 and that works fine. The sender name is now the creator of the document.
However, we've come to realize that this is not ideal IF the original creator of the PO retires or leaves the department or otherwise is no longer responsible in any way for the management of the PO (or contract). And, here is where my question comes in......
In this specific scenario (I call it the 'retired buyer' scenario), we'd prefer that the new buyer taking over responsibility / ownership for the old PO / Contract have his/her name as the sender of any future change orders. This seems quite logical at least to me and I can't imagine why it's not achievable. But, what I'd like to know is if anyone out there has accomplished this.......putting the CHANGER (name pulled from user master / SU01 as per standard SAP when the creator is the sender) of the PO as the sender.
We do have a customized MEDRUCK form and customized print program, but we were able to 'tweek' it to be able to get the standard OSS note 561593 working (creator is sender not releaser).
I've tested in our sandbox environment where the OSS note is NOT applied in order that I might see if standard SAP (without the OSS note) attaches the CHANGER name as the sender in cases where a PO change did not trigger a re-release (i.e. no new releaser on PO change order). In my test, it is the original releasor that continues to be the sender name of the PO even when it's changed by another user!
