Phillip,

Did you get a response to this inquiry? I would like to set up alerts for one specific job in the case that it fails. This is exactly the situation you have described.

The job runs on a satellite system and our alerts are generated through a solution manager that monitors specific MTE classes. I would like to set up different auto reactions for different jobs.

Thanks,
Judy.

Subject: How to create an MTE class

I want to setup a job monitor that will alert a particular user with a central autoreaction when their job fails. I have done the following:

1. Added the job name in table ALBTCMON (using SM30)
2. Created a new monitor set in RZ20
3. Generated a new monitor under it and selected <new monitor> - <system name> - Background - Background Job Monitoring - <job name>

I then go into the monitor, select Properties at the job name level and see that the MTE class is set to Job_Monitoring_MO.

My problem is that when I setup an autoreaction I can set one up for Job_Monitoring_MO, but it does the same reaction for every monitor that uses that class. I need to either specify rules for just this monitor or I need to copy that MTE class and create a new one for each monitor.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Phillip
