Hi Nick,

When you maintain the account in COA level, It means you will update SKA1 table.
Maintaining the account in company code level, it means you will update SKB1 table. Noted that you create the account in COA Level first.
Then all of the description provided in SKAT.

Posting a transaction, it means you are using all oh the three tables.

Thanks
RFR

Subject: GL Master Data

Hi,

May I know what's the difference between the content of SKA1 and SKAT? I was told both contain GL Account Master Data but SKAT should have Account Description.

However, when these tables are extracted, they appear to have slight discrepancy in the number of GL Accounts where SKAT is having some extra 6-digit codes which are described in German.

In that case, which table is SAP verifying against whenever a transaction is posted to a particular GL Account?

Appreciate your help.
