In MS Access you have a saplogon control which will allow you real time access to sap tables via VBA code. There is documentation and examples on the net about this.

Subject: Connecting SAP R/3 to Access using ODBC

That's what I've been doing is downloading SAP to a text file and then to an Excel file and uploading it to Access, but I wanted to see if there was a way to link it interactively. You said that SAP has add-ons that would allow for this? Where can I find these products and how would I use it for an entire company if need be?
