Hi again.
In order to change your material master roles you should check TCODE PFCG.
Of course the roles with MM02 TCODE assigned to user A (planner) and B(material master manager) must be different, and so you can put authority object M_MATE_MAN with field ACTVT 03 if you want to give way to displaying only or 02 if you want the user to modify the short text.
