What the suggestion from my side is simply to consult the BI people who prepare a repot from the production server on a monthly basis, so from there you can get the missed document numbers & there category. This is one of the reason that we do not opt for deleting a sales order or any other document but reject a document with stating a cause for that rejection so that the number of the document will be available while the report preparation from where we can get the details.
