Hi Peter,

All SAP Instance or DEFAULT Parameters are created/maintained with Tx RZ10. However some parameters are Dynamic and you can use Tx RZ11 to change the value with the system up, however if you do not make the change in the profile with Tx RZ10 the changes are lost after a restart.

The Changes SAP have asked you to make need to be made in the Instance profile with Tx RZ10 and require s SAP System Restart.

Regards

Subject: Change SAP parameter

Hi Gurus,

I'm using SAP ECC 6.0, ORACLE 10.2.0, HPUX B.11.23.

Recently, my production system had some issues whereby the system was unable to perform any updates and process any transactions. I was having a lot of problems and complaints from users.

Upon discussion with SAP, I was suggested to change below parameter in my instance profile, then restart the SAP system.

Affected parameter:
rdisp/ROLL_MAXFS 32768 -> 65536

I was also suggested to increase this parameter: em/initial_size_MB in CI.

However, my questions are:
1) How do I change this parameter: isp/ROLL_MAXFS ? I'm able to check it using RZ11 (only display mode), but how to change it?

2) Same for parameter: em/initial_size_MB, how can I change its value? Is there any recommended size?

For the above points, any SAP notes to support it? or any other relevant documents?

Would appreciate for any of your help and advice.

Thank you.

- Peter
