I have run Vista and Windows 7 on the 710 and 720 GUI version. I would suggest you try the 710 version that is available from SAP as they are downward compatible with older versions of SAP systems. I assume you are on a lower version than 620 of SAP.

Have you tried upgrading/downgrading the SAPGUI patches level?

My SAPGui Vista used to have problems on certain SAP release (some transactions just hangs) until we downgraded the SAPGUI patches.
