1) Yes I have had to exclude certain material groups from a costing run because the parts were obsolete and had not been disposed of as of yet. Obsolescence was already done on these so the financial world was waiting to dispose of them when they material was physically disposed of.
2) Some companies do their costing runs on a monthly basis and it updates their standards for the changes that occurred on BOM/Routing - prices, BOM additions,deletions or changes. Some companies do their costing runs on an annual basis. Both make inventory postings for the valuation change.
3) You can specify by company, plant, material group, material, valuation class & etc. how you want the costing run to occur in your selection fields.
